[Action]

[Hajime awakes by a stream. And so he does the natural thing when faced with such a confusing discovery. He starts talking to the water. For a while he stays in deep conversation with it.

Eventually, he stands up and starts following the stream into the village. Of course, the water can only take him so far. ONce he actually reaches the village, he stops to look around.]

Okay... now what?

[Voice]

[Some time later, after the initial confusion fades, he turns his attention to the journal and everything it offers.]

I... guess I'm supposed to say hi to everyone on this? I'm Hajime. I don't usually have wings. Or talk to books.

Oh... uh...

[He's a bit surprised by the person's appearance. But right now he's surprised by a lot of things.]

Neither I guess?

[The girl blinks her slightly elongated eyes in thought. Not looking for her or Sona? She tries to think of who else might live in this section of the stream.]

Are you speaking to the fish?

[Perfect sense to him.]

It says there's a village.

[Ooh, she actually perks up at that. She had never met a human before that could listen so closely to the water.

In fact this person may even hear it clearer than she does.]

This is true. The village is further past the forest. This water shall lead one to it.

[She knows it can be rude, but she can't help herself from asking so does it bluntly.] Are you not human? I have not met a human that could listen to the water so clearly before.

[Hajime had never quite thought of the question quite like that]

I'm... mostly human I guess. Kei never really explained how Leafe Knights are different from other people. I've always been able to hear the Water Leafe though.

A knight? [She heard stories of Knights in the past. This person before her didn't fit the image in her head.]

Human or not it is a great skill and honor to hear the words of the water. My name is Xzana. [It should be a funny sounding name. It's the closest translation to the human tongue she could make it.] I live in the lake to the south when there is no ice. If you wish to make the water your home, so long as you pose no threat to me, I will allow it.

[Just letting you know. She was here first and she isn't moving. She forgets people like to do things like... breath air.]

Yep, a Knight! We're supposed to protect everything that's alive.

[This he actually knows.

And then he remembers his manners and bows slightly.]

It's good to meet you, Ms. Xzana [He says it slowly, trying to get his tongue around the strange combination of letters]. I'm Hajime.

To protect everything that is alive? Then if I were to hunt the fish in this rive would you stop me?

[It's something she needs to know, because she tends to have a big appetite. Hajime looked fairly weak to her if she had to fight him for a meal, but she knew full well that looks weren't everything.]

[He shakes his head]

Eating's different... everything's gotta do it, and the Leafe keeps moving around.

This is good. As I only kill so I may eat. [As she's not very territorial. She's glad not to have a possible problem arise from this.] Although, I do not know very many creatures who would kill for other reasons then to eat.

There are... the bad things. That we're supposed to fight. Something's wrong with them, they just want to suck up all the Leafe for themselves.

[elongatedsmile]

[At first she thought the Leafe was just the name of the knights, but now she was starting to think the boy was talking about something other than the knights as well.] I have not heard of Leafes before. Are they like a leaf on a tree?

No, it's... what gives life its... aliveness. A kinda energy.

[He's seven. They haven't taught him the technical details yet.]

Energy? Life is made of out life... is it not? [She may not be seven, but this conversation has gone way pass her mental capabilities.]

Yeah... it's... like... life energy, I guess.

[Why isn't Kei here?]

[elongatedsmile]

Yet, eating the life of a creature is not eating the life energy of that creature? [She's trying to wrap her head around the idea. Hajime may be wishing Kei was here she was wishing her friend Casimir was here. He was so good at putting things in words she could understand.]

There it... all moves together. What's bad is trying to separate them.

I do not understands. It sounds to me as though humans have over complicated life once more.

The grownups are better at explaining this stuff than I am.

[But back on other things.] The village the water spoke of; you shall find it if you continue to follow the flow of water that way. [She raises a clawed hand to point in the direction of Luceti.]

[He bows slighlty]

[The bow surprises her. It almost mirrored the move she would use to show respect to the gods. A little different, but one should never take their eyes off of someone they did not trust and had only just met. So she isn't sure at first what she was suppose to do.]
