People here just sometimes... disappear and don't come back, don't they? Different from what just happened. Not like when everyone had to go fight. He's been gone longer than that.

[There's a brief pause]

From home. I've known him my whole life.

I'm sure he'd be glad to know that you miss him, but I don't think he would want you being too sad over it either. No friend wants someone they care about to feel sad.
